New Directions May Emerge
A toxic, contaminated, imaginary island connects large rocks, each carrying a single letter. Together, these visual elements convey messages shaped by curatorial intelligencesāContamination, Regeneration, Agency. The visual identity of the Helsinki Biennial creates a speculative world that unfolds through multimodal artistic acts of noticing, sensing, and sense-making. Moving from humans to non-humans and between varying scalesāa spectrum spanning data on the smallest scale through to islands. Curated by Joasia Krysa at HAM Helsinki Art Museum.
